These vehicles start out with very different engine options. The Escape comes equipped with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that produces 168 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque. The Edge includes a Twin-scroll 2.0L EcoBoost® 4-cylinder engine that can boast 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.

The Ford Escape offers two other engine options: the 179 horsepower-capable 1.5L EcoBoost® 4-cylinder engine, as well as the 2.0L EcoBoost® 4-cylinder engine, which is similar to the Edge engine, but produces 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. The Edge offers one additional engine option-the 2.7L EcoBoost® V6, which generates 335 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque.

Cabin Dimensions & Cargo Space

When it comes to the Ford Escape vs. Edge, both models are equipped to carry five passengers within their respective cabins. The Escape offers 98.7 cubic feet of cabin space while the Edge offers 113.9 cubic feet. In the front row, the Escape includes 39.9 inches of headroom and 43.1 inches of legroom as the Edge offers 40.2 inches of headroom and 42.6 inches of legroom in the front.
