Ford Escape Maintenance Schedule

The following Ford Escape maintenance schedule has been provided to Delaware, Marion, and Sunbury drivers by the folks here at Byers Ford. It will cover some of the tasks that need to be performed on a regular basis in order for you to keep your vehicle going strong for years into the future.

If you drive a Ford Escape, continue reading to learn more. Feel free to email or call if you have any questions. You're also welcome to swing by to speak to a member of our team in person. Whichever route you take, we'll be happy to get you the answers you need in a timely manner.

20,000 Miles

At 20,000 miles, it will be time for you to bring your Escape into the service center to have a few important things done. This includes such tasks as having the cabin air filter changed out to make sure everyone on board will be able to enjoy fresh air from start to finish. A tire rotation will also be completed. This is done to keep each tire from developing uneven wear and tear in order to last as long as possible.

Here are some of the items that will need to be inspected during this visit:

  • Engine cooling system to make sure the coolant level is where it needs to be and that there are no leaks in the hoses
  • Rear axle and U-joints
  • Exhaust system and heat shields
  • Steering linkage, ball joints, suspension, tie-rod ends, drive shaft, and U-joints
  • Automatic transmission fluid level

30,000 Miles

When 30,000 miles comes around, you can look forward to your Ford Escape receiving all of the above services except that, instead of the cabin air filter being switched out, it will be the engine air filter's turn to be replaced. This is imperative because the engine air filter sees to it that no debris gets into the engine to slow things down.

The whole brake system will also be checked out to include such aspects as the brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, brake linings, hoses, and the parking brake.

40,000 Miles

By the time your Escape has reached 40,000 miles, it will be ready for another oil change, tire rotation, and cabin air filter change along with the standard 20,000-mile maintenance.

60,000 Miles

This time around, you can look forward to the following things being checked:

  • Exhaust system and heat shields
  • Steering linkage, ball joints, suspension, tie-rod ends, drive shaft, and U-joints
  • Brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, brake linings, hoses, and parking brake
  • The engine cooling system
  • Automatic transmission fluid level
