2020 Ford Expedition Preview

The 2020 Ford Expedition is expected to hit dealers late fall 2019, and we know many Delaware, Marion, and Sunbury drivers are eager to learn about the updates it will offer. Our team at Byers Ford has been keeping a close eye on this information for you.

Ford has been pretty quiet about the details, but we've been able to glean some exciting information. See what we know in this 2020 Ford Expedition preview.

Then, call us for the latest on this SUV's release date!

Size and Power

Since the current-generation Ford Expedition came out in 2018, we don't expect many major changes to its design for 2020. This full-size SUV will still offer three cavernous rows of seating, allowing it to carry up to eight passengers. It's also a great choice for carrying large items-simply fold down the rear seats for some expansive cargo space.

Similarly, we also anticipate the powertrain options to match the 2019 model. That would mean a turbocharged 3.5L V6 under the hood generating 375 horsepower. It will probably team up with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and we're expecting availability in both 2- and 4-wheel drive.

Safety Features

One rumored update to the 2020 Ford Expedition is the availability of Ford Co-Pilot360™ on all models. More and more auto manufacturers are making their active safety features standard, and Ford seems to be following that trend.

This means you can expect to see standard features like automatic emergency braking, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®), and Lane-Keeping System. Each one is meant to help you avoid collisions in the Expedition, so you can drive with more confidence.

King Ranch Models

According to order guides, Ford is also bringing back the King Ranch trim in the 2020 Expedition. This trim level, last seen in 2017, offers a range of style upgrades inspired by western cattle ranches. We're anticipating features like:

  • Del Rio leather seats with King Ranch logo
  • 22-inch painted aluminum wheels
  • Stone Gray accents for bumpers, roof rails, and side mirrors
  • 360-degree camera for a bird's-eye view around the vehicle
  • Power-folding side mirrors

All in all, it shouldn't be too different from the features you can find in the current Ford F-150 King Ranch edition.
